I had thought that Trotsky, left coms and anarcho-coms were supposed to be a revisionist too. Then revisionism then refers specifically to policies which arose around the time of or after Stalin's death, or more specifically market-oriented reforms?

So you don't support everything the USSR did as an "anti-revisionist" (am I right in calling you that), this would certainly make sense. My issue with the anti-revisionist is to what extent it is logical to criticize so-called "revisionist" theories for attacking the top-down and authoritarian model of the USSR while it is admitted that some of those top-down authoritarian decisions were bad? Also, if the theory which led Stalin to ban homosexuality was bad, then presumably this means that the theory of Stalin does need to be revised. Considering Albania didn't legalize homosexuality until well after Hoxha's death, there seems to be something substantive here

my opposition isn't to "Stalinism" or "MLism" in general (though I have substantial separate problems with those approaches) but to the idea that various ideas challenging them are "revisionist". It stinks of orthodoxy and dogmatism.

I can't post in the thread but as far as I know, male circumcision has been said to be more hygienic, especially in warm climates, as it prevents the build up of anaerobic bacteria and also I did read that it has been claimed to reduce the risk of HIV infection in heterosexual males.
