Substitutionism refers to political practice which substitutes one segment or stratum of the working class for the class as a whole, primary example being the dictatorship of the party-state over the proletariat as a whole (which is then ideologically represented as "the working class taking power through the vanuguard).
The title basically represents a reiteration of "emancipation of the working class must be the act of the working class themselves".
