Why do the Uzbeks and Turkmens want to abandon Cyrillic so much, and has their replacing it worked? Also, what do you have to say about the Altaic linguistic classification and the differences between the Turkic languages and Mongolian languages within this classification? Why did you pick to learn Uzbek? Basically, just tell me everything that you know, as long as I don't waste too much of your time.

Also, what do you like better, Cyrillic or the traditional scripts?

Didn't you say once that you know Uzbek? I have a friend who's family is from Soviet Kazakhstan. They obviously don't know Uzbek, but Kazakhstan is close enough. I'm really interested in Central Asia.

"Right now I don't hold strongly to anything particularly right now (I'm still working on my theoretical knowledge and comparing what I learn to what's going on in the world)"

Pretty much the same currently but at the time I've been focusing on a M-L standpoint(post revisionist as they say) and trying to understand the Soviet Union better after Lenin died and under "Stalinism". I do firmly believe that both the Soviet Union and Stalin were attacked with propaganda from the west and other groups but for me it's to what extent, and what truth or value is in M-L theory and practice as well as what went wrong and were their intents genuine. I can say though I am rather firmly against libertarianism and believe the collective interests are more in important than individual liberties. I would aim at both however, but in conflict; the collective wins.
