Though I wouldn't advise to changing to your real name, both because it's stupid and because it's banned.

AJ Ryder's The German Revolution is a pretty good introduction. Pierre Broue's The German Revolution (imaginative, no?) is a hugely detailed masterpiece that examines the revolution from the perspective of the socialist parties

Sure. If you want I can give sources for any particular part of the essay; might look better than referencing some nobody off the internet. I can also recommend one or two works on the German Revolution if you need anything from that angle

As for Bordiga, you'll have to dig around a bit to find all of the available online texts, just as a heads up. You can find a wealth of material if you check MIA, sinistra.net and the websites of the various International Communist Parties. I supposed the best place to start would be The Lyons Theses. And after read The System of Communist Representation, Seize Power or Seize the Factory and Party and Class.

I'm not really up to date with all the numerous splits within Bordigism. It's almost possible to wring out of them exactly what their differences are (I e-mailed Partito Comunista and they told me they weren't interested in why comrades chose to leave 'the party'. Eventually I managed to work out from one of the texts they sent me that they split with Programma over internal discipline issues). Speaking of Partito Comunista actually, you can read their theses on the Union question to get their take on the matter.

The main difference between the two currents would be on the role of the party and the nature of the Russian revolution. The Italians were for the party in the traditional Marxist sense: the organisation which centralises the struggles of the working-class into one national (And International) class fight against capitalism. They also believed that the Russian revolution was a revolution by the working-class for the working-class. Earlier on they also believed in attempting to win over the leadership of the trade-unions (The Bordigists retained this view).
