I've heard of the Thing remake. Did you ever seen Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof"? The girl who's "the cheerleader" in that film is supposed to be the star of the new Thing. I don't have high hopes for it.

I've never read any of his stories, but I have seen some of his screen adaptations (Hellraiser, Hellbound, Candyman, The Midnight Meat Train). They're usually somewhat entertaining, and I do like the psychosexual elements that are in his stories, especially in Hellraiser. Hellraiser's plot isn't scripted tightly enough, though, in my opinion; there are some plot holes in it. Generally I don't like that, although I can forgive it if I like the film enough stylistically.

I am indeed. It's one of the only subjects I consider myself to be fairly knowledgable in, sadly.

If you'll excuse the interruption, I think a better punning name for your dog would be 'Snarl Barx.' Also, my brother-in-law said his mate had a cat called Mousey Tongue.

It's Felix Chuev who was on good terms with Molotov and Kaganovich, and who, although not a great Marxist-Leninist, was critical of the post-1956 view of Stalin, and even got in trouble for praising Stalin in the 1960's and onwards. Chuev wrote both Molotov Remembers and (the Russian-language only) Thus Spake Kaganovich.
