http://theanarchistlibrary.org/HTML/...Communism.html - Libertarian Communism, the most important work of Puente.

http://libcom.org/book/export/html/33181 - Diego de Santillan's more Syndicalist proposal.

Sorry for not replying for a long time, I am too busy with my work now. However, in reply to your question on CNT and Zaragoza Programme, I may say that Puente/Urales group attached too much importance to the necessity of local self-sufficiency, while Maximov obviously views the future economy as integrated whole, avoiding the possible pitfalls associated with excessive emphasis on local communities.

I still lean most towards Council Communism, but I feel that is a really narrow term and frankly I hate being dogmatic on anything. Left Communism seems pretty general, basically if you are a Marxist and reject the universal applicability of Leninism.

I read your post on "Economic problems in the Eastern Block" and I think you identified them really well. A lot of debate in the communist left seems to focus somehow around Stalin- but I think for most people Stalin is a non-issue, and the biggest mistake I think communists make is when they are backed into a corner and end up defending him . He is a topic that should just be avoided, the current predominance of stalinists in the left nowadays has more to do with the poverty of the alternatives.

The more important debate is about what happened after stalin. Economic stagnation is the single thing that cannot occur in a system that sees itself as the successor of capitalism. So i was wondering if you could spell out, or direct me to sources, that offer solutions to those problems you spelled out, since most of the literature I read and the discussions I have are either critiques of capitalism or are about history.

Ok I've seen your PM. Your points are fair enough. I basically agree with your evaluation of DNZ. I mean he is not a bad person, but his theory is really rubbish.

The Shanghai Commune was actually genuinely democratic, but it was disbanded by the Chinese army towards the end of the Cultural Revolution. I wouldn't necessarily call it "ultra-left". In fact, a lot of the "ultra-left" damages that occurred in the Cultural Revolution were acts of sabotage by bureaucratic elements, rather than the work of real "ultra-leftists".

The problem with the Cultural Revolution is that it focussed too much on "cultural changes" and not enough on concrete political and socio-economic changes. But I don't take the cynical view that the whole thing was just an attempt by Mao to grab more power.

I didn't get my info on the Internet. I got it from a space program documentary on TV a decade ago.

Hey comrade, nice posts on fascist Germany.

Do you have any online sources to share? Im highly interested in how the fascists organized the economy in the 1930's.

Ive always felt that the Nazi's made a great attempt to win over 'socialists' with a program of class collaboration for the good of the Reich and a tinge of egalitarianism in their rhetoric. Would you disagree greatly?

    Get at me!!

Hey, I just want to say thanks for mentioning G. William Domhoff in that thread. I know what I'll be reading for a while.
