So far I've only begun reading the programme. I have some objections:
- The case study speaks of the abolition of Capitalist relations. I would question this, since workers still worked for a wage and under the control of bosses. Whenever workers went on strike against their boss they were met w severe repression, i.e 1953 East Germany and Czechoslovakia, 1956 Poznan, Novocherkassk 1962 etc...

Why then does KKE maintain relations with CP's who uphold this version of the DOTP? They are far in advance of the other ML parties which is why I'm dissapointed when the KKE hold International meetings and allow shit parties like the Syrian CP, the Communist Party of China, the South African CP etc...

Certainly not. As it says on the new programm(the one the congress is about) "KKE has to continuesly prove its role as the vanguard of the class". If you read it, you ll see that one of the major things that lead to the collapse of socialism, was that the workers control got weaker. So its definetly DotP not of the party.

About to read case study. Does the KKE conceive of the DOTP in the same way as the 20C ''socialist camp'', i.e exclusive rule of the Communist Party?

And yes, I do admire KKE's stand against popular fronts, crude stagism etc...

I'll have a read of the KKE study. I think it's clear for all to see that the KKE have gained theoretical clarity from their studies. However until they break with the classical ML notions of socialism I think i'd find it hard to believe they can bring about socialism, in spite of their best intentions.

When I say Stalinist what I mean is support for the theory of Socialism in one country. The KKE presumably view Socialism in One Country as possible?

In spite of my opposition to Stalinism I am more or less a Leninist. My relationship to Stalinism (ML-ism, if you prefer) is summed up in the Left Leninist group description:

- The Leninist use of Socialism is in reference to a singular, stateless (as we know the state) and classless society -- Communism -- but is used only to distinguish between the First and Higher phases- The DOTP is =/= Socialism, socialism is = communism. The Stalinists make the error of confusing the State Capitalist economy of the DOTP (a temporary neccessity in an isolated revolution) with Socialism, and thus State Capitalism becomes an end in itself. If we take this State Capitalism and interpret it as early Socialism then yes it is possible to have SIOC- however in reality it is State Capitalism in one country.

I cannot stand Stalinism as a political theory (I view at as state capitalist) but I have to say the KKE are admirable in their theoretical clarity and opposition to Opportunism. I've just watched that video from Pafilis you posted and I was amazed. I think the KKE have the correct conviction for change but I worry that theory of what socialism is will inevitably lead to a reconstruction of Capital under a different form.
