Tbh I think you need to do some reading, and maybe catch up with some anarchists and Trots in your city and just have a chat with them sometime, that's the only real way you can get your views ironed out. Of course opinions will change but you have to start somewhere.

There is no official line on whether to use a bureaucracy or not, it would be utopian for us to say exactly how a future socialist society would be organized. Trotskyists agree that the bureaucracy was a necessary measure because there were not enough workers to make decisions in the soviets. The reason Russia degenerated was simply because with a vacuum of power the Bolshevik Party was left holding the baby, so to speak.

However I would generally agree that the economy should be democratically planned by workers, that's really what socialism is about anyway.

We differ from the anarchist line in that we see the need for a vanguard to argue for revolutionary politics and encourage class consciousness. There were material conditions that allowed Russia's government to become a party dictatorship.
