I most certainly do believe in the Devil. If you look at all these discussions, they involve free will (when we're the ones being blamed for having none of it). Let's look at the Devil first: he was a fallen angel who chose to disobey God's will. If an angel has the will to obey God, why wouldn't God's own creatures. We were made in His image, but with free will -- which only humans have. We by our own choice ate the fruit of knowledge. Now, God didn't destroy the Devil. Why so? Why would he do such a thing? I'm not too sure. In fact, this is debated in Christianity today. Yet my own faith, and reasoning alike, tells me this: if God destroyed the Devil after he had corrupted us, what good would it be? I hope I answered your questions. By the way, why so many of them? I'm happy that a non-theist is willing to provoke this kind of debate.

It's good to ask. To clarify one aspect, you should know that I do believe in evolution. Thus, I don't see the creation story as literal, but a view of faith and God through human eyes. That doesn't means that it is less holy; it just means that the Bible isn't necessarily a textbook. The main message is that humans were in perfect communion with God. Thus, we weren't made imperfect, but in His image. What happened is that temptation from the Devil (portrayed as the snake telling Eve to eat the fruit of knowledge) caused humanity to lose that special connection with God. That's how evil got into us.

That is a very common question. Yes, there is evil in the world. Does God want evil? No. But through original sin (remember, I'm a Christian), there is evil in the world. Why doesn't God destroy this evil? He could. Why doesn't He? Well, original sin was a human choice. So God leaves us the choice to either do good or evil. Evil, being wrong choices, is a choice. But keep in mind that capitalism isn't only the product of choices by single individuals, but the outcome of social, historical, and economic problems. So people can't be individually blamed for causing it, but they can be blamed for upholding this form of oppression.

im not saying that i dont dislike the practice of homosexuality. im going to say that leviticus was probably written by a stoner. allow me to explain my thoughts here. my friends sometimes call me "the atheist christian" because I question everything. I question everything including books of the bible. now dont find every single irrationality about christianity because i'm not here to preach and answering those would be to close to preaching; anyways, I questioned this. I said "where is the backing?" i asked "what evidence have I seen that this is true?" I have seen none of this evidence at work or even in existence, so I found that once again we are ALL god's children and he loves us ALL. I think that we should all be treated and respected equally.

and to properly answer your question i must find out what you mean by "homophobic". homophobic as im sure you know means having a fear of homosexuality. BUT, ppl here commonly missuse the term to mean somebody that does not think that homosexuals should have equal marriage rights etc. NOW, my stance is that EVERYBODY should have EQUAL rights. but would i freak the fuck out in a gay pride parade out of bieng so damn uncomfortable? yes. i would. I think that this is tolerable in personal life because everybody still has equal rights because we are all equals.

i'm not homophobic. this is not something that i choose to believe in because homosexuals even though i'm not one, and even though i do draw some ideas from freud on this subject, should be treated as equals. now, if a guy were to grab my crotch would i punch him the fuck out? yes. but that's another story.

(I mean, look at me. here I am. being a marxist christian. it's kind of obvious that it's compatible, otherwise there wouldn't be multiples of us xP)
