I don't know, but I thought of morphing "free market" as is used by conservative demagogues into "free marxist" to suggest that socialists believe in freedom, too. What the U.S. Republicans haven't figured out yet is that they are under oppression. They live under the heavy rock pile of elitist capitalist subjugators. And they don't even realize it.

Oh, and obviously, Leadbelly. 12-string guitars are the coolest.

Coolness. I don't know a ton of jazz guitarists; Wes Montgomery is good, and I love Joe Pass. Other big ones like Pat Methany I couldn't even name one song by--my jazz knowledge is really haphazard.

I also like a guy named Russ Hewitt, he's a bit of a no-name and I guess he plays more Latin rather than jazz, but I like him nonetheless. The song "The Pampas" off of Baja El Sol is unbelievably catchy.

Do you like Ry Cooder? He and Bert Jansch are the last two great guitarists I've discovered. Mick Jones is the all-time greatest though; I would love to get a Les Paul Junior and learn to play it so I could pretend I was Mick.

Also, Elliot Smith and Nick Drake and Johnny Marr and Johnny Greenwood and Tom Verlaine and Adam Jones.

You shouldn't have gotten me started. So is there anyone I haven't named that you like?

It is, but I also like jazz. Lately I've been starting pandora with Miles' "In a Silent Way" and getting some awesome fusion stuff. I'd say Charles Mingus is definitely my all-time fav.

And the blues are pretty damn amazing too.

Well I've been playing blues and heavy metal, but now I'm mostly into jazz (free jazz, straight jazz or jazz fusion...). Also I started playing guitar over electronic music a few weeks ago.

All music , mostly rock , but I like rap and blues and lots of other stuff too
