Do you view the USSR as state-capitalist or as a degenerated workers state?

I think of it as having gone through stages where, for awhile ,there were parts of Russia in which genuine socialism took hold. I believe after that it became a degenerated workers state when the Soviets were taken over by the state. And then it eventually devolved into state capitalism somewhere during the height of Stalin's power and from there turned into full-blown capitalism and collapsed in the late 1980s.

Is it "scripture" that all Trotskyists must consider it a degenerated workers state through and through?

The reason I made that post was so that i can learn. I do not much care what people think of me, seeing as my name here I can change any time.

Left Commies vehemently oppose class collaboration.

So how does your stance on Cuba and your belief in parliamentarianism differ from left communists for example?

I believe that the means of production should be democratically controlled by workers councils and soviets with absolutely no interference from the state. The state should have a large amount of its power stripped away and it should be used only as a means to protect people within the state from revenge-killings and the like after the revolution and to insure that civil rights are not violated.

Its said that both Trotsky and Lenin worked together in removing worker control of the soviets and placing it in the hands of a bureaucracy. Do trotskyists oppose this? Do you think my ideas line up with those of Trotsky?

Aside from the idea of permanent revolution which seems slightly vague I am not totally sure about the actual ideological differences between trotskyists and other marxists. It seems to msotly be ground in history

I see these ideologies as requiring a degree of "faith" in order to follow them. Trotsky s word is scripture, etc...

It also causes a lot of sectarianism, even over stupid non-issues in history. Trotskyists seem to even have a ton of sectarianism within their own ranks. Specifically with the whole IMT vs CWI thing

    Marxist-Marxist.

I'm not a fan of ideologies and attachments to certain schools of marxist thought.
