"For the cause of rich people and strong country", I think what they mean is that, "For the cause to make people richer and stronger country".

"To co-ordinate with the government agencies, mass organizations, economic and social organizations to effectively carry out youth works, participate in building and protecting Party and Government." From what I know, we have duty for the state and yes, loyalty to it, loyalty to the Party. Pretty much nationalist I think.
  2. It wasn't in English until I clicked the English button.
Also, the best students in a class? Well, that's a turn-off. Hopefully they don't judge this by grades, because then I'd have to find myself in firm opposition to them, as an anti-schooler.
Wait, so when you go to university, you have compulsory classes in Lennieism? Well, alright then. Also, "for the cause of rich people, strong country, just, democratic and civilized society." For the cause of rich people and strong country? I mean, I'm hoping that this was just a translation problem, because, y'know, it sounds like something of a nationalist reformist union than a socialist one...
"To co-ordinate with the government agencies, mass organizations, economic and social organizations to effectively carry out youth works, participate in building and protecting Party and Government." Um... So, does it seem nationalist in practice, or...?

To be in the Union is a great honour for any student. Since only the best students in a class can join, only about 30%, or maybe lower. The year we can start to be a member is Grade 9, i.e. the final year of junior high.

When you go to university, those subjects are compulsory, the professors are actually in the Communist Party, not the HCYU anymore. I don't know why they let us do it that late though.

It's in English, why can you not read it?
Community service like: helping the poor, Red Cross, helping students from other provinces coming to big cities to do universities: give them directions in the city, calling people to support finance, etc...
Every business, school, university that belong to the state, always have the presence of the Union. Yes, it is the combination of many groups of student, workers, etc. Actually, higher guys here means higher in the "age in union", i.e. how long you have been in the Union, so it lets others know about your experience, the higher the "age", the more experienced you are. Thus, the guys who have more "age" than me, have the rights to give me orders. It doesn't mean that I have to follow a higher guy blindly, since if his orders are against morality or are not fit with the situation, I can report him and he'll be dealt with.
  6. Higher guys? My libertarian socialist senses are tingling with fright. Ehm. Anyways, what kind of community service? Also, is it a 'union' in the sense of a student union and the like, or just a group? Also, what do you mean by the university stuff, as in, when you start going to a university, then you start learning about this stuff from people in the union, or...? In which case, why not do that earlier?
Interestingly, I can't read that webpage.

Ha ha, actually I've been learning Japanese for 2 months, I really love it.
In the HCYU, young members like me basically do community services, or any activity that is given from higher guys. When you get to university, that is when you learn about Marxism-Leninism philosophy, Socialism science, etc
  9. Ah. Damnit, I'm just monolingual.
I had gone to Vietnam a while ago. It reminded me of India in quite a few ways, though it was different. Anyways, how's the Ho Chi Minh CYU?

[W]hen we hear one rack the name of God,
Abjure the Scriptures and his Saviour Christ,
We fly in hope to get his glorious soul,
Nor will we come unless he use such means
Whereby he is in danger to be damned.
Therefore, the shortest cut for contacting
Is stoutly to abjure the Trinity
And pray devoutly to the prince of hell.
