I used to live in Chicago, though I still consider the city home. Chicago is a left city. It's not San Francisco or Berkley, but the left has a lot of pull there. The recent sit-down strike had massive local support. Michael Moore used to film his tv shows in Chicago because that's where he gets his best audience. Like most places, the soft left outnumbers the revolutionary left, but it's easy to find comrades there, there's a lot of history there, and working class struggles get supported. And the pizza is awesome.

Hey comrade: I think I recall reading a post where you said you were living in Chicago and were associated with a leftist book store that closed? I am thinking of heading out that way soon. How is the revolutionary climate there. Anything much going on?

In response to stancel's remark below, I still suggest Class-Strugglist Social Labour as the name, with no additional word to describe this "transnational" party-in-all-but-name.

I'm thinking of forming the League for a Revolutionary Socialist International. Basically an alternative to the capitalist SI, but for parties that don't think an explicitly Trotskyist international is needed. And yes, it's going to be the Fifth International

Your recent 4 point analysis was right on, and I word for word agree with you on at least two of them. Too many here don't understand the American psyche, and simply believe it's all brainwashing, and not based on a collective American culture.

Hey man, I'm thinking about joining the SP, but I don't know if it will really be worth it for me. Currently there is not a local in my state, but I'm in an isolated part of the state and it would just be as the only member so I feel like it would be a waste for me to join. Any input? Also, there is a Brian Moore thread in politics.
