I read it in In Defense of October by John Rees first, but the reference was: Page 242, Red Petrograd: Revolution in the Factories, 1917-1918, by S.A. Smith, Cambridge University Press (2008). Or you can just go here. The book itself has footnotes but I don't own it so I don't know what they are, and they aren't available in the version on google books. Needless to say, though, CUP is reputable.
