In addition, you will find many Anarchists who have opinions on what should be done post-revolution in terms of combating reactionary forces. Its my opinion that democratic workers' militias will be most useful for this, I quite like RS2K's post on it. Simply, post-revolution, even in times of counter-revolution, we must not begin to fall down the slippery slope of adopting permanent armies and hierarchical structures. Militias are an effective tool, if we take Afghanistan and Iraq for example, although they are not militias which I would advocate, the militia resistance to occupation there has been quite successful, Iraq was an abysmal failure for the coalition, and Afghanistan is a deathtrap for them too, because simply a handful of peasants and workers took up arms to oppose them.

    Haha, yeh I'd imagine so

I wouldn't call myself an Anarchist necessarily, but I think I'd probably identify more with Anarchist-Communism as a Libertarian Communist. I think on your first point, I'm sure there are many who would call themselves a Socialist although hold sympathies with Anarchism, for the reason you pointed out.

However, and I admit this is a basic argument, but if people continue to hold those views about Anarchism, then a successful movement cannot be built because of their inherent prejudice towards it. But, in Britain anyway, that isn't usually the case, although compared to British Socialism, Anarchism and Left Communism still seems to be a minority within the movement. But it's still our tasks to continue agitating within these movements, as well as within the workplace, community, places of education etc. in order to try and convince more people away from Authoritarian Socialism.

Well I had been a bit disillusioned with Trotskyism for a while now, even from last year or so I was beginning to call myself a Libertarian "Trotskyist" ... whatever the hell that meant I think it was more of a past loyalty to the ideology as opposed to actually looking at what's right.

Coming to Sheffield for uni, there's a decent Anarchist grouping here, and Manchester's not too far away too, again with a decent grouping, they did stuff, didn't glorify their own organisation, worked with other Anarchist groups and were generally less less sectarian than British Trotskyism.

Honestly the bullshit that passes for journalism never ceases to amaze me. Thomas Friedman's millions is brilliant proof of the capitalist system's penchant for rewarding mediocrity.
