yeah i think that's one of my favorite books about that period and about urban guerrilla stuff, precisely because he really takes all the romanticism out of it. its not heroic street battles and whatever, its like... yeah playing pinball, reading 15 newspapers every day, following assholes for weeks... boredom, really.

The same with MTW. You should know the fact that you don't actually find a lot of support for MTW among real ethnic minority workers. Even though MTW is anti-white, most MTWists seem to be middle class white students.

I'm not saying your dogmatism is "morally wrong", it's just counter-productive. One reason I like Lenin is because Lenin has a natural talent for realpolitik, Sunzi's Art of War style. (I believe Marxism has more in common with the Art of War than with the Bible or Plato's Republic)

I mean, have you actually worked with workers and peasants from oppressed national minorities, like say Kurds in Turkey, or Tamils in Sri Lanka? How can you seriously ignore their national sentiments and still genuinely engage with them?

Frankly Lenin's position on national rights is much better than Luxemburg's or those of left communists and some anarchists.

National sentiments do become reactionary in some cases, and no I'm not just talking about abstract principles here like you might think I'm doing, the reason is actually very clear in most cases. It's a matter of class basis. Contemporary Tibetan nationalism is largely reactionary for example, because it's based on bourgeois and feudal elements.
