You're right in that respect, pacifism is very popular amongst religious socialist groups, for various reasons. The definition of 'anarcho-pacifism' is controversial, and an individual's personal beliefs are no doubt coloured by whether one is a pacifist who has decided that anarchism is the only way to peace, or an anarchist who has decided that anarchism can only be brought about peacefully However, most would agree that the ideal would be a peaceful revolution. This would be based on civil disobedience, general strikes, and the establishment of socialist communes, removed from the capitalist system, in order to effectively undermine rather than overthrow the state. The issue remains that most revolutionaries would argue that it is impossible to conduct a revolution by undermining, rather than overthrowing; anarcho-pacifists, on the other hand, are certain that overthrowing the state is an impossibility. Needless to say, there's a great deal of friction around this technicality...

Yes, you are right. Or...we might call it anti-political, but yes, it is religious in nature. We hope to attract religious Jews to socialism by forwarding interpretations of the faith that correspond to and support our socialist aspirations for humanity. We also support and cooperate with other religious / spiritual socialists; there are, despite what some people may have you believe, a decent number of us!

I might call myself a 'Jewish Tolstoyan'; that is to say, I personally admire Tolstoy, and find many of his writings on so-called 'Christian anarchism' very inspirational, and in many ways applicable to my own beliefs. I believe that my faith advocates a certain society, a certain way for mankind to behave and interact, which can only be truly achieved through socialism. This is the core of Behar.

This is just a very basic overview, without going into too much detail, but I am very grateful that you are interested in our activity, and what we advocate.
