Yeah, I think you have a point there. Which is why I've always stressed that anti-Islamophobia is about fighting racism, rather than defending religion.

Maybe I should have picked Christianity as an example rather than Islam, but I think you know what my point is. I don't like how some religious people here get ultra-sensitive when religious belief is criticised (in a non-racist way, of course).

Thanks for bailing my thread there. I thought merely just posting the article would have been enough.

I do positively discriminate somewhat towards workers who are more oppressed, but these workers exist in every country and culture. I'm on the side of heavily oppressed workers in general throughout the world, not just "workers of a particular nation".

Well regarding Obs, I don't criticise computer games but obviously I object to people spending too much time playing them, just like I would object to people watching TV all the time.

It's interesting you picked out TES specifically, because I would say pagan fantasy like TES is actually partly progressive relative to right-wing moral absolutist religious rubbish.

As for sectarianism, well I'm a semi-Maoist and a semi-Third Worldist. I seriously don't see how any genuine socialist would disagree with some of the basic points of Third Worldism. Even Karl Marx himself strongly criticised Western colonialism. That said, I don't agree with Third Worldism in the narrow binary sense either, because as I said one cannot put "UK workers" and "Indian workers" into simplistic singular categories. There are many Indian workers who are actually less oppressed than UK workers, not more. Not every worker in India is like the guy in that thread.
