Since authority is equally distributed among all members of the community that way and every member takes part in the decision-making process the government is, in essence the whole society.That's why some ultra liberal right wingers whine that anarcho communism is the dictatorship of everyone over everyone and bla bla bla bullshit :P

Help me out on this one, just so I can figure it out once and for all. In anarchist philosophy, what's the difference between states and governments?


Well I'd say that a state is hierarchical organisation that holds power over society by legitimizing it's existence through the Law and therefore claiming a monopoly in authority.The State is the product of a class society and has no place in a classless one since it always protects the ruling class's interests.The government on the other hand is simply a body which takes the decisions needed for the organisation of a community.In the present society the state and the government are identical terms but in an anarchist society the state is substituted by a network of horizontically-organised assemblies and organisations which work in a federal way.
