Yeah its great, they do have Cuban music, Cuban food at it, guest speakers and talks on Cuba and Che. Last year they had Ches duaghter as a speaker. It does be great craic and plenty of drink to. There was ment to be statue of Che built in Galway last year but a scumbag big capitalist called Declan Ganley put an end to that. The statue was goin to be put beside a statue of an Irish socailist republican guerrilla fighter called Liam Mellows.
Im not surprised that Che isnt liked very much in the states, he was their Bin Ladin of the 1960s and the states really hated marxists back then.

Che also got me into marxism, I love Irish music to, I play a bit on the banjo.

Thats great Im happy to hear that. Yeah your right, the Brits are just as imperialistic as the US. The US is now what the Brits were 100 years ago. But the Brits still have a lot of power over other countries. Most Republicans support Cuba. There is memorial for Che in county Clare, and every year there does be a big Che and Cuban festival in the same town. And there are many big wall paintings of Che all over the North of Ireland. The Irish have great affinity with Cuban and also the Palestinian struggles.

Mao's little red book is a great read youll enjoy it. The struggle in Ireland to liberate the North from the British is a national liberation struggle against British imperialism. The reason why Republicans are fighting a national liberation struggle agaist imperialism is the creation of a socialist country and freedom for all, all the Republican groups objective is when the British occupation is removed is to set up a 32 county socilaist republic. All marxists are internationalists, so marxists support all struggles against imperialism and capitalism through out the world. But at the same time not all marxists support the struggle in Ireland. Some people seem to think its a struggle against two religions , catholic versus protestant. But the truth is the struugle has nothing to do with religion.

The Communist Party of Ireland isnt much better. Your better off joining an actual Marxist-Leninist group. THere are no Marxist-Leninist groups in Ireland, but there are a lot of Marxist-Leninists in Irish Republican groups. The group I'm in, one of our main objectives is to promote Marxist ideas within Republicanism. We also take part in many campaigns, for political prisoners, anti-imperialist, anti-war, and many campaigns againts social problems. Heres the link

Iv never read Paco Ignacio Taibo III's biography. Yeah its very depressing how Che went out. His Bolivian diary is very depressing. Another good book to read about Marxism-Leninism is Chairman Mao's Little Red Book, heres a link for it
