Also no, I'm not really a hipster haha. Some commonalities perhaps, but certainly not a full-fledged hipster. What gave you that impression?

what i do is basically this when i am behind the stall: anyone who passes by, i tell them something like "hi, we have a publication, would you be interested?". there is no way anyone can tell that you have said that last sentence to like a hundred people before unless, well, they've been sitting next to you the whole time.

i know of at least a couple collective houses in chicago. they could probably put people up, and help coordinate with others. if there are indeed already some groups in chicago that would be interested in setting this up, they could probably provide sleeping space on floors, couches, etc too.

sounds good to me. i'm sure i could round up a few people from around here to carpool down. i know which doctor is involved with some sort of "group" in chicago as well who are active on campus, they could probably reserve a conference room or something. i think it would be good to leave plenty of time for purely social interaction as well, sort of the way lots of anarchist conventions are organized.

yeah, people who argue about the progressive nature of capitalism or how it was necessary or whatever usually make me want to start throwing punches, or at least vomiting on them.

i'm definitely leaning more and more towards the "extinction" side of things in terms of where i think we're heading, but i might read a bit too much apocalyptic literature.
