Btw, you're not entirely to blame for that thread... I just started reading a book called Critical Perspectives on Imperialism and Class in the Third World (1978) for just a couple bones in a thrift store... I was all super stoked at first, only to feel violated later when I found out that the guy who wrote it, Petras, recently came out in support of Ahmadinejad's reelection...

To be fair, people who know me in real life will probably recognise who I am, but it's better than having my first name as a username.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat with student loans but I've got mine down to a somewhat less terrifying $6,000.

I've mostly just been traveling in Central America/Mexico. Went to Chiapas and did some light volunteering in a Zapatista Community, went down to Honduras/Nicaragua when all the coup stuff was happening, other than that mostly just doing the trypical gringo backpacker thing, drinking at Guatemalan bars and swimming in Mexican rivers, haha.
