Be careful in Rome about wearing anything too overtly political... I say this as a friend. The political climate is very hot at the moment and I wouldn't want you to get into difficulties. Rome can be quite a rough city in some places.... be careful around Termini Station, be careful in the outlying areas too and watch out for pickpockets on the buses or metro- keep your bag around your shoulder or a moneybelt, don't flash your wallet. It's not like you have to be scared and it's not as bad as some other places in Italy- but still, when you are a foreigner you can be a victim more easily.
