After the election – the next steps for workers

    http://www.cpbml.org.uk/events/after...-steps-workers
CPBML Public Meeting, Thursday 11 June, 7.30pm

Bertrand Russell Room, Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL

It was a grim election result, but we don’t have the option of lying down and playing dead for the next five years. The tasks facing British workers remain essentially the same: we are going to have to fight for our survival as a nation and as a class. Only Marxist thinking can help us here. Come and discuss the strategy and tactics of working class renewal. All welcome.

    Where is the “Middle Class”?
    by imarxman
    https://imarxman.wordpress.com/2015/...-middle-class/

Responding to the Labourers’ Allotment Bill (1887), the Liberal politician Sir William Harcourt said, “We are all Socialists now!” This has become a well-used phrase, quoted in the past tense at the time by “The Times”. As a rhetorical flourish it was well crafted, while its actual veracity was, and is, wholly inaccurate.

A hundred and ten years or so later, another politician had adapted Harcourt’s notion to insist that everyone had become middle class. Like Harcourt, Tony Blair was employing misleading rhetoric, misleading because there isn’t a middle class to belong to.

    10
    REASONS TO LEAVE THE
    EUROPEAN UNION

1 Because we can only survive and prosper
outside the EU. EU trade represents just 20 per
cent of global trade – we can trade with the other 80 per
cent, and still trade with the EU outside it, as do Norway
and Switzerland. They talk about “little Englanders”, but
in truth the “little Europeans” are perverting and
    narrowing Britain’s trade and industry.

2 Because the EU is for capitalism, not the
working class. It was set up to enforce “free”
markets – the free movement of capital, labour and goods
    – to provide greater and greater profits while suppressing
    wages.

3 Because the EU wants to break up Britain. The
EU exists to destroy national sovereignty. Nations
are seen as obstacles to the unfettered rule of global
capitalist markets. The EU wants to dismember nations,
dividing us to leave the field to finance capital.

5000 workers leave Philippines each and every day. .Labour as a commodity--exported by a venal government as one might send crates of Tuna or Pineapple.

The protesters decried how the Aquino government continues policies which prefer to export labor, rather than create jobs at home, then neglects those who fall into trouble abroad, as highlighted by Mary Jane Veloso plight. - See more at:

    Radical Politics and General Elections
Just about 100 days before the British general election, Greece saw what is being touted as a radical party of the Left, Syriza, not quite achieving an overall majority. Two or three seats short, Syriza has to go in search of at least one coalition partner, and so the compromising begins.
