I have not read that, I'll take a look at it later. Most Marxists today are very right wing in my opinion, sadly enough to say.

My views are very eclectic so I have a hard time predicting who would find them interesting. The primary influences on my thought are in this order 1. Friedrich Nietzsche 2. Max Stirner 3. Karl Marx.. so it's like some weird combination of post-anarchism, anarcho-communism, and left communism. One thing I am curious about looking into more is the dialectic. I can tell it's an extremely important part of Marx and Engel's methodology, but they don't really talk about it that much in terms of how they conceived it and how it should work.

I'm curious about something. You sign most of your messages with "my red-green best" What are your political beliefs, exactly?

As for the alternate forum, I am not too surprised that discussion went unnoticed. The powers that be there seem to be(and some literally are) a bunch of very old men who are extremely dogmatic and set in their views, although it is a bit strange that they would be uninterested in what you have to say considering most are pro-dialectics over there.

I still read texts from Hoxha, Mao, Trotsky, Luxemburg, etc. I would not take the absurd view that all these writers have something "admirable," but certainly that something can be learned from them. I'm skeptical of dialectics, and don't currently incorporate it into my worldview; but I'm still interested in reading about it with a critical view point.

I think the problem with a lot of online communists is that they tend to be young people that really don't have much of a true interest in learning theory and philosophy behind things, or older people that have decades of ideological baggage and aren't interested in changing their views, only in having a shouting match with those who disagree. Everyone seems to think that their ideology has the keys to the secrets of the universe, but I am skeptical of everything.

    Thanks for the complement.

I try to have an open mind. When I discovered communism, I realized that if I had had a more more open mind earlier, I might have dumped my earlier social-democratic mindset earlier. Determined not to make the mistake again, I resolved to try to keep an open mind. I was first a Stalinist, but even then I resolved to avoid dogmatism. It was this that lead me to concluding that Stalinism is a load of crap after reviewing all the evidence, and so I dropped those views. It was this necessity of having intellectual freedom from not just dogmatism, but ideology in general that drove me towards what could be called in some generic sense "Anarchism." I try to be skeptical towards everything, which necessitates open, but critical analysis.

You've made some great contributions in the thread on dialectics. Although I am not an adherent of dialectics myself, it's still good to see that there are people interested in making serious and respectful discussion on the subject.

I'll have to check out that book, The Dance of the Dialectic, when I get the opportunity to do so. Are there any other resources you could recommend to skeptics to check out?

Just hit the thread on the alleged mysticism of dialectics. These people really need to read Ollman! Tell me what you think.
