She's a pretty interesting person. She was a prominent member of the Workers' Opposition.
I must admit, I only know the face. I know she was one of the few Bolsheviks not to be purged and that's about all I know.
Are you a fan?
Yep.
Hey dude, I don't know if you know this but we're going to be going over Capital in the Roosterism thread. Interested?
I totally agree! I think it's because Marx mainly wrote for other philosophers and economists, so he's hard to understand with all the German philosophical terminology. I was told that the only thing he wrote for propaganda was the manifesto.
I'll start reading it either tonight or tomorrow so there's no rush. Thanks for participating though. It's always good to be able to discuss readings without being flamed.
If I run across any relevant material I'll send you a copy/link. I'm only reading the bulk of Marx myself. Have you read The German Ideology? That's what I'm starting now, after I finish Homage to Catalonia that is. If you like we could discuss it if you're not busy.
Are you looking for a parliamentary oppositionist quote from Engels? i.e. a quote supporting the idea that the revolutionary party should participate in parliament only in an oppositionist sense, to advance the views of the proletariat, and to agitate against the ruling class, refusing to take power in any other way than revolution?
A couple of good reads, which could illustrate her position better than I can: Leninism or Marxism? The Russian Revolution The Mass Strike Mass Action All found here: http://www.marxists.org/archive/luxemburg/index.htm
