I don't think Belarus is "third world", it occupies a peculiar place in world economy, it is definitely not more "third world" than say, Italy in 1975.

Woman were well treated in socialist states in which many woman were patriarchally oppressed before, and well, CSSR was the third richest socialist state (after GDR and Yugoslavia), so I'd say the general living standards were better than the USSR, but not as good as SFRY or GDR.
Im trying to compile some information on how women were treated in the Socialist Republics and could you help me with some information on the CSSR ? If so that would be really appreciated Thanks
