I log in through Facebook.. so it really doesn't have an account name. I'm told that my name shows up as like a series of numbers when I log in. I tried adding you a while ago, and I see you just changed your avatar. I'm going to remove you and try adding you again, so if you see someone with a weird looking name add you, it's probably me.

Well good thing I'm not a Bordigist then. Probably a lot of it is historical enmity, but there is probably some legitimate beef as well. He wrote on a wide variety of things, probably some of its horse shit, but there is good stuff there as well.

I'm of the opinion that we need a new kind of party, one without the ideological bullshit. I think a lot of what separates Marxist-Leninists and Trotskyists are historical positions.. their theory is ass; but strategically they are closer to where they need to be than other groups.

Ultra-leftists who fetishize the general strike and reject partyism are pretty much irrelevant, and have always been. The most advanced theories in the world are meaningless if you can't advance the movement or allow the working class to take power.

If you shoot me your email I can send you a few works in PDF format.

I can imagine, but I'm not a councilist so I'd never really be considered one of them in any case. Pretty much in an ideological limbo right now. Leninism and party fetishism all the way..

Have you read Revolutionary Strategy? I think DNZ pointed you to a place where you can get it free. That is really what turned me away from Councilism; well that and a more in-depth study of the Bolsheviks and Lenin.

Also fair to mention that some of the people you mentioned re. Bordigists actually aren't. Kontra is an ICC sympathizer and HEAD ICE is a ICT member, both councilist leaning organizations. Rafiq did mention that he is influenced by Bordiga though.

Yeah, around $55 or so.. put a dent in my pocket book; but it's about 2,000 pages so it's worth it. I've been told that he deliberately wrote in an obscurantist manner as to avoid fascist censors.

I just ordered Gramsci's prison notebooks today. Hopefully it will be a good read. I've read some excerpts and I was extremely impressed. He was mildly pro-Stalin and anti-Trotsky.

He made a good critique of the 'hyper-internationalism' that characterizes the likes of left communists today. Of course, internationalism is of paramount concern, but past a certain point it becomes more concerned with form over essence.

Saw your post on DNZs wal about becoming disillusioned with left communism and wanting to move towards orthodox Marxism. Talk to me comrade!

You do realise that many left-communists and Luxemburgists see themselves as upholding the true traditions of Marx and Engels' writings, thus seeing themselves as pretty much classical marxists.

What is it that interests you in the ideas of people like Kautsky and DNZ??

I don't think so, he urged a united front with social-democrats to the end of his days as far as I'm aware. It's worth mentioning though that Stalinists are for popular fronts and coalitionism(having communists form ruling coalitions with the bourgeoisie in parliament) which is even worse, by a long shot.

I think a lot of those people you mentioned are post-Trotskyists though. I know Q is, and there are quite a few post-Trotskyists on this board, which essentially means that they reject degenerated workers state. If you reject that theory, then you kind of gimp Trotskyism of what defines it as Trotskyism.. becoming...... POST-Trotskyist. lol I'm serious though. I don't have any problem with post-Trotskyists really, I mean other than their shitty positions on imperialism, nat. lib, etc. They're way better than Stalinists and Trotskyists in my opinion.

One thing that always annoys me about both Stalinists and Trotskyists is that they're always agitating for a "united front" with Social-democrats. I thought it couldn't be a united front if it mixed the interests of the workers with capitalists. Social-democracy isn't really a workers movement.
