I agree; it is a fetishization of the sort of violence that produces random spontaneous "cramps" of violence that is the cause of so much of the fetishization of order, in the first place; they say the antecedent world comes in "with a knife in its teeth", Jesus also spoke of bringing a sword, but ideas are weapons, too, and events like this serve very easily for television news fodder.

Well I'm undocumented so obviously I can't work on anything related to my field yet lol. That said, I plan to continue my education and eventually teach at the university level. Yeah, I plan to be one of those leftist professors you hear so much about. I had a few of those at my uni and they were great people who really opened my eyes (I even protested alongside one of them). I plan to continue their work. Plus, I like the atmosphere of academia, at least where I studied, which was predominantly populated by working class hispanics.

One could argue it's somewhat hostile to call people and their opinions contradictory, which presumably means that one of the two will have to be dropped to achieve consistency, or, as you yourself said, that the individuals in question are just confused. This is hostility, whether you realise it or not. It's dishonest to claim that you are not hostile, especially when it comes to religious communists, before showing your hostility to them by claiming that they are incoherent etc.
