There was a highly influential review of her book and comments on the assassination by Oleg Khlevniuk in the Journal of Modern History 74, No. 3 (2002), pp. 352-380 by Matt Lenoe, "Did Stalin Kill Kirov and Does It Really Matter?"

That Khlevniuk agreed with her on this is important, as he carries a lot of weight, being probably the most influential Russian historian these days on Stalinism. And deservedly so I should add. A lot of his stuff has been translated into English and is all very worth reading.

I actually *don't* know of any English language reviews of the full 542 page book, which is really too bad there is a lot of great stuff in it.
