Fuck. The parliamentary election went badly, almost 6% for the racist sweden democrats, making them bigger than both the left party and the christian democrats. the social democrats did about as badly as expected, and thus the rightwing parties have amajority, in all likelyhood the green party will back them to kepp the sweden democrats out. *sigh* I haven't really kept up with the local election results, but gains for the rightwing and the racists are expected. As for our own election results, we did allright. We ended up on 187 votes, 0,6% here in my home city, with my district, where I was handing out electionballots for us, making the best result. not bad for a first try and something to build for the future. In the ities where we have councillors we made some gains although no new seats, but given the overall swing to the racists and the right wing that is great result.
The election here in sweden is on sunday. Today we stopped the far-right party Sweden Democrats from coming to uddevalla. When they heard of the anti-demo they cancelled their meeting to focus on a neighboring city (in which, as far as I've heard there will be an anti-demo as well). I'll send a report on the election result next week. We have a shot at getting into the local council here in Uddevalla. We'll see how it goes. Best of luck to your campaign as well. Plinio Presidente!
Hey, how are ou comrade? The election campiagn here is nearing it's end. on sunday it's election day. It'll be interesting...
Thank you, comrade. Tell me when you've sent it. So how's the campaigning going? I just got back from a full-day of election campaigning,we had the weather against us though.
If you have any pictures and report from your youth camp that you said you would send me you can mail them to me. I'll send my e-mail in a PM to you.
Thanks for writing, comrade. We too have started our election campaign mroe seriously now, I spent most opf the last week campaigning pretty much 24/7 in my Hometown helping the local branch out. It seems like we're really starting to establish ourselfes as a presence, although we still need many more active emembers to able to intervene more in the struggle. I also got a very good active Trade Union contact for the party, which is good because, while msot of our members are in the TU most are also pretty young. As far as I know any official alliance with any swedish party is not happening this election, but we have one person who is a member of Komalah (the anti-stalinist Communist party in iranian Kurdistan), and also of our organization who is standing on our list, as well as the support of other exile left organizations. It's great to hear that the left in PSOL is getting organized in the elections, because there will surely be more struggles ahead.
Oh, I just found out that we now have section in Argentina as well, I had heard that there was a group about to join, but in decembre they apparently got accepted as our official section (although, of course they will still have to be voted in by the world congress, this december, to make it official official). http://lachispa-argentina.blogspot.c...s-seccion.html
