ah, what books/artciles go on those? For I've mostly taken info from comrades and the study at british imperialism in the middle eastern area.

Many early Zionist settlers were either Marxist or sympathetic to Marxist ideas from what I have read. As a result, there was some hope that the new state of Israel would lead to an egalitarian Marxist state in the region. At the time, British imperialism was supporting the Egyptians and Jordanians as well, and this must have affected Soviet thinking.
