I think I did incorrectly conflate socialism with the revolutionary period. I also completely agree about how there should not be revenge against ex bougeoisie. I am sometimesunsure about some comrades hate for the bougeoisie. I can understand the hate for the class's actions - on principle etc but feel we should refrain from hating the person. What do you think? How old, or alternatetively, how educated or intelligent must someone be before they take responsibilty for their status as exploiters?

Well I'm a historian by trade, so I study history professionally, and it was largely the historical dialectics that bugged me. It's simplistic and arrogant to think that you can sum history up in one sentence, and outright wrong to say that economic factors and class conflict are the only things that drive history.
