Also, have you contacted the DC branch of the PSL? I think it'd be a good learning experience to see us in action as well as in theory. There is going to be a demonstration at the White House on March 19th, so definitely contact them about helping out if you'd like.
As for the "cult of personality," I think it's hard for us in the United States to understand it. The people of Korea were literally saved from starvation, illiteracy and poverty by Kim Il-Sung's leadership. It's hard for us to understand such a thing, if you ask me. The reason for the succession of leadership from father to son is that the people of Korea revere the Kim family and popularly supported Kim Jong-Il taking power when his father died. Imperialist lies would like to distort this, but he had and still to this day has widespread popular support. Here's what the PSL line comes down to: Korea is no heaven on earth, but without socialist construction, the country would be a semi-feudal colony under the fist of imperialist colonization. Instead of blaming the people and leadership of the DPRK, we blame imperialism and say without it, Korea could be a thriving state.
You should give this article a read for the PSL line on Korea: http://www2.pslweb.org/site/News2?pa...news_iv_ctrl=0 If you disagree with anything, let me know. I'd love to talk to you about it.
