I mean I listen to other stuff as well, just hardcore dominates what I listen to on a regular basis. I believe you should go for what really appeals to you, whatever that genre may be

Actually rap is not my primary musical taste, altough it used to be. Nowadays I'd say 90% of what I listen to is hardcore (and all its subgenres), black metal (love Burzum), some ska, etc. The rest is primarily electronic music (DnB, dubstep, but also more ambient stuff like M83, Autechre) or rap. Occasionally indie, but in the general sense I am a hardcore punk.

Actually I've just started getting into southern rap. My general rap tastes, however, vary. But I'm a huge fan of a lot of the people signed to Stone Throw Records, especially Madlib (and his alter-ego Quasimoto) and MF DOOM. I also tend to bump Vinnie Paz and a lot of the AOTP crew, including AOTP itself, which I find insanely ill. Flying Lotus and DJ Shadow too, depending on my mood. I've been getting into Tyler, The Creator lately as well.
