I agree with you about Lega Nord. Banning Anne Frank is just preposterous. The bit about sexuality in the book is just crap, at best you could just skip over those parts when dealing with a young audience. The real reason is that the Lega Nord in their heart of hearts are a bunch of fascists in my opinion, in the North of Italy near Trieste there was the only death camp in Italy and the Northern Italians were much more pro-fascist. Things like the Holocaust doesn't make it look very good when you are trying to promote some weird esoteric Northern Italian racial superiority theory and say that "we are the good guys" and everyone else are baddies.

The Emporer for life rules his realm as it suits his own whims, all the while musing about mass democracy and "anti-authoritarianism".
