oh no i don't. please enlighten me. perhaps with some links. maybe a better description than my name (from a song title), alleged "interest in Chinese" (no, not really, just wondering if you spoke it...), and "fascination with frivolity" (err, what?).

sure, i have an objection to the classic "seriousness" that pervades so many "left" organisations. i just do see how that is a defining character trait. eh, whatever. you can think of me as whomever you like. do you like big beefy men? i can be whatever you like. i'm a body building sailor! i'm a fireman! i'm a sexy librarian. or you like women? i'm a doctor, a nurse, a tv presenter, a body building sailor, a fireman, a sexy librarian. i'm whatever you like baby.

frivolity is appropriate in most situations, including many places which are "serious". having fun is part of what being a revolutionary is so good. we can reject what "mainstream" culture would perhaps say is inapropriate.
