I don't intrinsically dispute that, but isn't that what I've been saying? My critique of people accusing me too harshly has nothing to do with my personal status at all, that's the point I've been making all along!

As for my general point regarding affirmative action/positive discrimination, these are only quantitative not qualitative. Society should understand why Blacks are more prone to crime, and have social programs to try to alleviate the social causes of it, but does this mean Blacks shouldn't be punished for murder? Of course not.

But as I said, this is only a general point, not a personal one at all.

I think you've missed my point. I never mentioned discrimination in a personal context in that thread, only in a general sense. (I.e. raising awareness of racism against Chinese immigrants in US history)

Personally, all I was saying was that I was criticised too harshly over a relatively minor term, which I had no prior knowledge of. I never said people were harsh to me because I'm Chinese/female/queer in that thread.

It's all about context. "Right" and "wrong" aren't absolute. Marx himself used this term occasionally. Should we write a diatribe against Marx too? It wasn't wrong in Marx's context, it's wrong in the contemporary one.

I admit I can be quite *****y at times, but "cowardly" isn't really the word I'd use. I don't "hide behind" minority status, because it's simply an integral part of my identity. And frankly some degree of affirmative action/positive discrimination towards minorities isn't a bad thing at all.
