I'm reading Mobo Gao's "The Battle for China's Past" atm as well, it's very good, I actually used to own a copy but then I lost it when walking home one day

I've decided to take a closer look at Maoism in general, my knowledge is too limited. Can you recommend any good accounts of the Chinese revolution, either in article or book format!

I would definitely recommend reading "On New Democracy." It is the best way to get a grasp of what that means. I also recommend reading "Politico-Economic Rationale for People's War in Nepal", by Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, leader in the CPN-M and finance minister of Nepal's republic: http://southasiarev.wordpress.com/20...-war-in-nepal/

You know, I'm beginning to think you might be right on the importance of "New Demcoracy" in Nepal and other countries which suffer from a lack of industrial development. I plan to read Mao's "On New Democracy" soon, would you recommend it?
