Awwwe, thanks, it was kind of annoying that thread. Glad someone has some sense, I thought I must have went crazy or something, like wtf, common sense.

Thanks. I find the same here. I've asked to be restricted a couple of days ago as one thread kind became a trigger for a mental health issue (I've had problems for six years- which sucks), and I'm surprised I'm still here. officially, I should be offline until 28th October. I am thinking that revleft really just isn't good for me- so I don't know whether I'm coming back or not. it's not the discussions themselves, but that it is very hard to find an open-mind who will consider the possibility they've got it wrong and go for 'give and take' on both sides. That said, I can't get rid of that Marxist itch that there is 'something wrong with the world' but I'm finding it harder to post here. I'm getting more and more unorthodox as I try to figure out what 'went wrong' and what approach we might use this time round and it puts me on collision course with people. it's difficult to know where the path will take me. So if I don't see you around, I'd like to wish you the best comrade.

hey Argeiphontes, I don't think we've talked before. How are things? How did you get restricted by the way- you don't seem like a particularly deviant poster on revleft? It's nice to have a Market Socialist around.

Thanks, it isn't that much though I do employ one person . I tried to lure in some national socialists in another thread, but there don't seem to be any on this site.

I replied to your planned economy thread.

Oh, that is very interesting. In fact that one sounds like I might try it, as I have been thinking about going vegan as well.

Though, just looking at it, it seems like there would be some protein issues. Am I mistaken?

    Why are you a 'market-socialist'?

Is it because you hate me? Have I not extolled the virtues of piracy enough? The fountain of youth of no interest to you?

Political Statement
I identify with the Libertarian Socialist tradition (anarchism) and am a Market Socialist. I believe in the following anarchist principles:

1) There should only be that authority which can be justified, and
2) People should have say over decisions in proportion to how much that decision affects them.
3) Social relations should be mutually constituted rather than externally constituted. (Proudhon).

I accept Schweickart's critique of ParEcon and the economic system I favor is market socialism. It's the only realistic thing to push for, and enables the whole project, from what I can see. All enterprises should be worker-owned, which would overturn the capitalist relations of production while leaving allocation to a market without central planning, but with democratic control over its institutions (banks, capital markets, trade constraints, etc.) After all, it's the social relations of private ownership of the means of production and wage labor that characterize capitalism, not commerce itself.

I no longer consider myself a Marxist. I'm not a social or philosophical materialist. I accept material conditions as partially determinative of human behavior, though. The truth is much more complicated than that; I like Pierre Bourdieu's sociological theorizing quite a bit.
