    But yes, Althusser downplays class more generally: we are all equally made subjects of capital, 'interpellated', with an emphasis on how this structure is reproduced (rather than interrupted, as in a revolution). Gramsci's analysis of the modern state is superior in terms of understanding class imho

    D-A-C should be much more knowledgeable on this than me (even if he is studying film) and can explain it, if you ask him. I've done this in my post, and hopefully he will respond.
