For those who see the failed International War on Drugs as a globalized system of exploitation, driven by corruption, double standards, and authoritarianism, for the benefit a few political and cartel elites.
Narco-socialism proposes three initiatives to be taken in order:
1) End of prohibition in the main whip of the international drug war, the United States, both in its domestic policy, which has locked up an enormous populations in profit driven prison systems for menial drug offenses that effectively have no victim, and in its relations with other country's, who mostly continue the policy for fear of losing subsidies.
2) The establishment of Socialized Medicine, funded by the revenues of Afghan Opium which should be bought instead of destroyed, as it currently is, and made into pain-medication, in combination with the establishment of workers co-operative medical cannabis farms and distribution centers, based on the california model. This will serve as a basis for a new economy, as overproduction in a drug market can be curbed even more vigorously, and more enjoyably, than in a war economy, out of which the current state of affairs was born.
3) The establishment of a Fifth Socialist International based on the aim at liberating the oppressed laborers who slave under the lash of the drug cartels in South America, the opium warlords in Afghanistan and where ever else this system has propagated. We agree with the proposal by Comrade Chavez, though critique his, and the general left's tendency to conventional or even reactionary thinking.
