This is the first action taken by the group after the right-wing coalition won two-thirds of the National Assembly in legislative elections.

Hundreds of motorcyclists took to the streets of Caracas and rode to the Miraflores Presidential Palace on Wednesday to show their support for the government of President Nicolas Maduro.

This is the first action taken by the “collectivo group” after the Dec. 6 legislative elections, in which the right-wing coalition of parties, known as the MUD, won a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly.

These motorcyclists have always stood in solidarity with the Bolivarian government of Venezuela, supporting the revolutionary process undertaken by the South American country over the past 17 years.

Colectivos emerged during the 1960s from guerrilla warfare in urban Venezuela and made a return during the presidency of Hugo Chavez. Since then, they have actively participated with the government promoting democracy, political groups and cultural activities in Venezuela.

However, the right-wing media has tried to tarnish the image of the group describing its members as armed gangs or paramilitary groups, these allegations have been denied by the government.
How can these politically organized motorcyclists come from any other social strata but the pequena Boliburguesia?
