Is your style street effective?

I trained Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Muay Thai, and various forms of grappling. I prefer traditional styles rather than new, watered down MMA variations. I always wondered how effective the arts I were learning would be in the streets. Obviously, I won't be hopping around like a crane when someone runs up on me. I've been in multiple fights and used Muay Thai in about all of them (except when I was jumped). And from Muay Thai, the clinch and knees in general are actually surprisingly useful. I can't say I have enough training or confidence to do a clean roundhouse to the dome, haha.

Anyways, what have you learned from your style that has helped you out in real fights.

I have been practicing martial arts since the age of 16. I started tae kwon do school Chantilly, VA as a self defense technique. Since then, I've been learning new form of martial arts. From my experience one thing is simple and straight, that in real fight you won't be getting open chances to hit your opponent.
