Yes stop making immature comments and expecting serious discussion from them.

They are not immature, by thinking they are immature, it just proves how ignorant you really are. You wanted answers to your questions, and I gave them. It was you that failed to comprehend them.

BTW, I thought you would like to know. Your own comrades even agree with me about the split.

STRAIGHT from the CPC election website..

"Miguel became Party leader at a critical point in the history of the CPC, immediately following the crisis and collapse of the Soviet Union and the socialist regimes in Eastern Europe, and on the heels of a serious internal crisis and split within the Canadian party itself." That was 20 years ago. Welcome to today. There was a liquidationist trend in the party who managed to steal a lot of party resources for their own pockets and now are no longer involved in politics.

First of all, I was proving a point that you were wrong, and YES, the split did happen.

Second of all, it's kind of ironic how you say that because I'm the one stating that we need a modern socialist party, here in Canada.

"There was a liquidationist trend in the party who managed to steal a lot of party resources for their own pockets and now are no longer involved in politics."

Why was the trend in the party happening? There must be a reason.

Here comrade, this'll cheer you up, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVBY0BmdT9c

I just to solidify things on how the CPC was and still is soviet-like.....

The CPC was actually caught receiving money from the Soviet Union... from the 60' to the 80's I believe. What policies were the CPC going to favour when they're being paid by the Soviet Union? It's like the PC's today. They're funded by the oil companies, what policies will they favour pro-oil company policies or their own right-wing policies? (Don't bring up the CIA bullshit thing either, it was proven, by a CPC member that accompanied the current CPC leader at the time when he was picking up briefcases of money from the Russian embassy in Ottawa (George something), even admitted to seeing these briefcases of money.).

Then, when the split started to occur (officially happened in 91, I believe) and it was between those that wanted the CPC to become a modern socialist party and not Soviet-like vs. a pro-soviet group of CPC members. When the people that wanted a modern socialist party walked to the NDP, Miguel was elected the leader of what remained of the CPC (pro-soviet members). Now, Miguel is STILL the leader, and was elected of what remained of the CPC at the time (pro-soviet members); what policies today would Miguel favour...?

**(Sorry for spelling mistakes, shitty sentence structure, etc. it's kind of late here.)

We never received money from the Soviet Union, that is a lie, it is propagated by the capitalist class all throughout the cold war to isolate us from the masses. It was used as justification to arrest and exclude us from everything. Fred Rose himself was elected to parliament and they claimed he was a Soviet spy while sitting in parliament!!!! And what CPC member proved this? Its funny how you just make shit up when it suits you. Theres no news report of this or charges laid against our party. We get audited on a regular basis, how the fuck we going to hide briefcases full of money on our expense sheets? And the only Party leader who had the name George, was George Hewison he was the liquadator! And he was only party leader from 1988 to 1991 when he was liquidating the party.

The liquadationists summarily expelled communists from the party in 1991 in violation of the party's constitution in order to liquidate the assets and pocket them personally in their bank accounts. As for your "modern socialist party", The NDP does not call for socialism they haven't since Ed Broadbent days in the early 1980s.

Miguel Figueroa was elected party leader after the full of the Soviet Union in 1992. How would he support Soviet Union policies since then since the Soviet Union no longer exists.

"Its funny how you just make shit up when it suits you."

How do I make shit up? Fred Rose, I agree was a work of the government, and he wasn't a Soviet spy. But you're in denial about recieving money from the Soviet Union.

"Theres no news report of this or charges laid against our party."

There is a news report on this, I've seen it myself. I've looked at the old paper that an old CPC member provided me to see. You're in denial.

"And the only Party leader who had the name George, was George Hewison he was the liquadator! And he was only party leader from 1988 to 1991 when he was liquidating the party."

You can label it whatever you want "liquidating" or whatever, you're making these people look evil, yet, they wanted to help the party to be progress. Why would he state this to a person who was a so called "liquidator" himself?

I don't recall calling the NDP my "modern socialist party", I am fully aware they are nothing more than social democrats. I was CALLING on a formation for a 'modern socialist party'. And yes, I am fully aware that the NDP has not called for socialism since whenever.

You're ignorant, and so is your party. You will never change, and nor will your party. You're stuck in the 1900's. This is why the CPC will never regain it's strength, and will never be elected. It will never ever, "progress" Canada in modern day time. You don't know what comprimise is, and therefore, will never change Canada.

"Miguel Figueroa was elected party leader after the full of the Soviet Union in 1992. How would he support Soviet Union policies since then since the Soviet Union no longer exists."

You obviously are either trying to make me look like an idiot, by using idiotic 'come backs', or you yourself, are lacking intelligence. It is still completely possible for a party today, like the CPC to have a "Soviet-like platform".

By the way, how is your party doing? How many votes did they get in the last federal election?

P.S., I haven't logged onto RevLeft for quite sometime, but, after reading what you said, I had to post =). I think I'm done with this site. All it is a bunch of kids living in the past, and not looking to the future. Although, there ARE progressives, like myself on the site, they are a minority.

I'm done with this conversation. I argue to try to change ones perspective, and it's one thing to try, but, it's also one thing to stop, when clearly they will not change.

You can post whatever non-progressive bullshit you want to spill, go for it, if you want to live in ignorance, that's completely fine with me.

Maybe I'll see you around one day, who knows? But if not, good luck in the future. You'll need it.

You call me ignorant, say some bogus claims that cannot be validated and yet you call me ignorant? You're the one stuck in the 1900s, theres no Soviet Union anymore, we support forming a socialist Canada. We are not some random person on the internet throwing shit hoping something will stick. We are actively fighting for socialism, and if you come and criticize us for not being successful, then tell us what is your brilliant idea that will lead the masses to socialism? I don't see you offering an alternative, I don't see your modern socialist party idea taking off. Theres a lot more to party building that having a good idea, it takes decades of work and responsibility, almost all of it unpaid.

Okay, so what is the current situation in Canada? NDP removed reference to socialism last convention. What's left (pun intended) ?
