Thats official figures...The actual number is probably higher. Anything up to around 50 per cent.
Actually it's 1 in 5 women are raped and/or sexually assaulted in their lifetime. But rape/sexual assault is the most under reported crime in U.S. Probably because of the rape-supportive culture we live in and the rigid gender roles we currently accept.
Its different for different countries and social groups.. also the definitions of rape vary a bit. but yeah thats shocking and probably true
Yeah Palingensis has a point, those are only recorded rapes. Personally I think anyone who commits a vile act like rape should be castrated and be starved to death.
