So could you guys recommend any places to visit?
Lenin mausoleum? You could also maybe inquire if there's places that sell English-language works published during the Soviet period.
Say hi to Putin and Gorbachev for me
I had the mausoleum planned. I had not thought of inquiring about soviet era works though. Thanks.
Visit the 1970's and 80's housing estates on the outskirts, those are marvellous works often neglected. Particularly Strogino, Medvedkovo, and the various splendid estates around Chermushiki and Chertanovo.
Thanks Takayuki.
Please put a flower on Stalin's grave site for me
I would visit Lenin before they bury him, although I doubt that will happen any time soon since it's a popular tourist attraction.
Brutus visited according to a PM. He said (in relation to me asking him to find English-language Soviet-era works): "The M-E-L institute was closed, and I couldn't go to the Lenin museum in Gorki as it was too far out of the city. Lenin state library had some, but were unwilling to sell."
