What should communists do to debunk myths about communism?

Any suggestions? How do you go about it? How do you respond to most of the common myths about communism?

I usually force them to elaborate on every cliche-criticism that they have. Such as "good on paper but not in practice". And as they elaborate I point out all of the flaws in their elaboration, show them how they are completely wrong, define Communism and Socialism for them to show them exactly how wrong they are, and then I get into a large discussion about human nature from there (and as an Anthropology student I have studied that subject a lot), and then they give me the reply.
"See! It does look good on paper, but when you try it .... "
    *facepalm*
and then it takes over an hour of historical discussion and debate. In the end I have only had to responses, outright acceptance or outright denial. I have gotten a few people to begrudgingly ease their way out of anti-Communism, and have even created a few Socialist advocates among my fellow high-school students. However, the vast majority of the time they still reject Communism based on the flawed reasons stated above.... >.<
