Information on the Vanguard Pary

    Can someone give me some of Trotsky's writings on the Vanguard party? And if Marx and Engels supported a Vanguard Party?

    Marx and Engels did not support a Vanguard party, that was designed by Lenin.

    I'd say Marx and Engels did support the vanguard party, It's stated in the Communist Manifesto in the second chapter.

    They definately support a Vanguard party, so did Trotsky, but I'd go to Lenin for Vanguard party information.

    Trotsky was wrong about his view of the revolutionary party untill he joined the bolsheviks in 1917. He was part of the Social Democrat party, but he was with Martov on letting non revolutionary elements inside of the workers party, which goes against Vanguardism as Lenin put it.
