My politics teacher has told us not to describe religion as a cause of terrorism on our assessments. Is this fair or does it signify a bias in favour of religion? I understand that terrorism is also caused by other factors such as globalisation, the emergence of new technologies and acts of aggression by western states and their allies, but surely religion is also a factor. It's not the main cause but to say we should not talk about it as a cause at all strikes me as biased. Please let me know your thoughts on this topic.
